The F-2 is the most commonly used probe, designed for measuring the thickness of paint, polymer and other dielectric coatings on magnetic substrates. F-2 is the main probe for measuring the thickness of dielectric coatings on steel substrates, primarily paint coatings, polymer materials, bitumen, and mastic coatings.
The best choice if you need to measure coating thickness in the mid-range (up to 2 mm/2000 µm) on steel substrates, without the requirement to measure electroplated coatings.
Probe type | F-2 probe |
Coating thickness range | 0-2 mm/0-2000 µm |
Measurement accuracy | ±(3% + 2 µm) |
Substrate’s type | Steel (ferromagnetic) |
Coating type | Paint and other anti-corrosion coatings |
Measurement method | Magnetic induction |
Typical application | Paint and other anti-corrosion coatings
Measurement of thin fireproof coatings |
Probe dimensions | Ø19×59 mm |
Widely used probe suitable for most of coating thickness measurement tasks with fast measurement speed.
