ADAPTABLE TO VARIOUS TESTING CONDITIONS

The Leeb Probe Type D can be used with samples of different weights and thicknesses:

  • Minimum sample weight:
    • Of compact shape: 5 kg (11 lbs).
    • On solid support: 2 kg (4.5 lbs).
    • Coupled on plate: 0.05 kg (0.2 lbs).
  • Minimum sample thickness:
    • Uncoupled: 25 mm (0.98 inch).
    • Coupled: 3 mm (0.12 inch).
    • Surface layer thickness: 0.8 mm (0.03 inch).

VERSATILE AND ROBUST

The probe’s tungsten carbide tip, with a diameter of 3 mm and a hardness of 1600 HV, ensures durability and precision. It is designed to measure hardness up to 940 HV, making it versatile for a variety of materials from softer metals to harder alloys. The moderate indentation size and depth help maintain surface integrity while providing accurate results.
