Reference magnetic test blocks are primarily used to assess the quality of magnetic suspension. Each sample is a metal plate with precisely engineered defects in the form of cracks with known geometric parameters. This allows users to verify that the magnetizing device and the magnetic suspension, when used together, can reliably detect defects of the required size, ensuring a specific level of sensitivity.

We produce a wide range of magnetic test samples for Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI), Penetrant Testing (PT), and other non-destructive testing applications, including bars, plates, and disks with various types of engineered cracks.

These magnetic test blocks are designed for use with our NOVOTEST MPD-DC, MPD-PM, and MPD-17P Magnetic Flaw Detectors, as well as with similar devices from other manufacturers. This compatibility ensures that our test blocks provide consistent and reliable results across various inspection systems.

Applications of our test blocks:

  • Quality comparison: Our test blocks allow for effective quality comparison of different magnetic powders (particle solutions).
  • Quality assurance: They ensure the quality of magnetic powders, suspension and the device when used with testing benches.
  • Quality analysis: During magnetic particle testing, these samples are essential for analyzing quality and checking the correct dosing of magnetic powder in automatic testing systems.
  • Versatility: Suitable for various types of testing, including MPI and PT, across different industries.
  • High precision: Engineered with precise defects to ensure accurate calibration and sensitivity testing.
  • Reliable performance: Essential for ensuring consistent, reliable results in magnetic particle inspections.
  • Comprehensive quality control: Facilitates thorough quality control processes, ensuring your testing equipment and materials meet industry standards.
  • Wide range of options: Available in various forms, such as bars, plates, and disks, to meet diverse testing requirements.
  • Wide range of sensitivity levels: Level 1, 2, 3 are available for ordering.

In accordance with GOST 21105 (Non-destructive testing. Magnetic particle method) there are the following sensitivity levels:

Sensitivity level Minimum defect width, µm Defect length not less than, mm
Level 1 2,0 0,5
Level 2 10,0
Level 3 25,0
