NOVOTEST Lab UCI Pro is a next-generation portable hardness tester built on an advanced Ultrasonic Contact Impedance (UCI) technology. The device delivers a new level of measurement accuracy, stability, and usability, setting a higher standard for UCI hardness testing in both laboratory and field applications.
The new technology and probe design significantly minimize operator influence and ensure highly repeatable results, even when testing complex-shaped components, thin parts, and surface-hardened layers.
FULL-FEATURED HARDNESS TESTER WITHOUT A SMARTPHONE
This device is a fully standalone hardness tester with a built-in high-contrast display and intuitive controls. All essential measurement functions — including hardness scales and material selection — are available directly on the instrument, while connection to a smartphone enables advanced features such as calibration, extended settings, data analysis, reporting, and storage.

EASE OF USE AND PORTABILITY
The device has an ergonomic body that fits comfortably in hand. Its weight is about 160 g, and it can operate up to 24 hours without recharging, making it one of the most autonomous full-featured UCI hardness testers in the world.
MEASUREMENT OF PRODUCTS OF ALMOST ANY SIZE AND SHAPE
The device allows hardness testing on almost any objects — from large components to very small parts weighing just a few grams, and thin plates about 1 mm thick. It can also measure coatings and surface-hardened layers where traditional methods cannot be applied. The indenter penetration depth is only a few microns, so the surface is almost not damaged.

WIDE RANGE OF SCALES AND MATERIALS
The device is factory-calibrated for all main hardness scales: HV, HRC, HRB, HRA, HB, HK, and MPa. It features built-in hardness conversion formulas in accordance with international standards ASTM E140 and ISO 18265 for materials such as steel, alloy steel, stainless steel, cast iron, nickel, aluminum, brass, and copper — all available out of the box. Additionally, the operator can create custom materials.
OPERATION IN HARD-TO-REACH AREAS
The design of the device allows removal of the protective indenter cap, enabling hardness measurements in hard-to-reach places such as narrow grooves, gear teeth, internal surfaces of holes, and areas located up to 20 mm deep inside the object.

EASY USER MATERIAL CALIBRATION
The device introduces a new approach to material calibration in portable hardness testing. Along with a wide range of factory-preconfigured materials, the device allows fast adaptation to a specific material — either using a single reference measurement or simply by entering a calibration value. This capability enables reliable hardness testing of non-standard alloys, heat-treated parts, and materials that fall outside conventional conversion tables, redefining the flexibility of portable UCI hardness testers.
CONNECTION TO THE NOVOTEST LAB APP
When connected to a smartphone, full device control becomes available, including calibration and creation of new materials, measurement and functional settings, graphs, statistics, archives, reports with photo/video/audio notes, cloud synchronization, data export, firmware updates, and much more.
